- Smart priority engine — ranks every Canvas assignment by due date, point value, type, and your current grade, so you always know what to do next.
- In-Canvas panel — your ranked to-do list right inside Canvas, with an overdue badge, per-course filters, and a "due this week" preview.
- Treasure-hunt game — earn dubloons for studying, hunt down hidden chests, beat quick mini-games, and spend dubloons in a cosmetics shop with loot-box reveals.
- Clipper, your parrot study buddy — page-specific tips, encouragement, and an adjustable talkativeness dial.
- Streaks & Finals mode — a daily streak with freeze protection and a 7-day heat-map, plus double dubloons during Finals Week.
- Focus timer — start a study timer, finish it, and earn dubloons for the session.
- Your notes on the right page — import PDFs, slides, or typed notes; the panel surfaces matching notes on related Canvas pages, and Ask Clipper searches them.Keyword matching, done entirely on your device — no AI.
- Full dashboard — Today, Assignments, Notes, Study, Files, and Import tabs in one place.
- Private by design — no Course Compass account and no servers of ours; your data lives in your browser.Optional: a small settings subset (your Canvas connection, theme, and game progress) can sync across your devices through your own Google/Chrome account — you control this in Settings.
Coming in future releases
- AI study layer (opt-in, paid) — summaries, quiz generation from your own notes, semantic search, draft pre-grading, an AI-powered Ask Clipper, and OCR for scanned or handwritten notes.Not in the current version. Will require an account and credits.
- Course Compass account + Google sign-in — optional, for the features below.
- Cross-device sync — your priority list, streak, and cosmetics follow you across machines (opt-in).
- Plus & Pro plans — paid tiers (billed via Paddle) that include AI credits. The free tier stays free and fully functional.
- Web app at chartededutech.com — your dashboard in any browser, no extension required.
- Google Drive import — pull notes straight from Drive.
A clear word on AI
The Course Compass you can install today contains no AI and makes no AI calls — none of the features in the "Available now" column use a language model. The notes matching and Ask Clipper search are plain keyword lookups that run on your own device.
When AI features do arrive, they'll be a separate, opt-in part of a paid plan, clearly labeled in the app, and never switched on silently. We'd rather under-promise here than have you install expecting something that isn't there yet.
